The world over is celebrating women on March 8th. It is celebrating the liberation, the sense of freedom and the innate power that a woman yields. International Woman’s Day is not just about the people, especially the men recognising the importance of women in society, it is the day day is when you resolve to break free from the old mould that the world has been putting you in for so long. It is the day when you vow to realise your inner beauty and take pride in looking good. This is the day when you celebrate your womanhood and open up to the potential of your beauty and sensuality.

Look Good

We criticise the elements out there who put so much worth on looks, but heart of hearts we do know that looking good is about feeling good. So on this day, break away from the typified image of beauty that the glossies around the world promote. Instead find within yourself your beautiful points and create your beauty moment. Whether it is a thicker thigh or a soft belly, but know that all these add up to your charm.

Enhance your sense of calm and evoke your inner beauty by starting the day with a little meditation. Ponder on your best points and try to soak in the positive energy that is around you. Promise to yourself that you will through positive thinking bring out your best.

Feel Good

Enhance this effect of calmness within your self by sipping a hot cup of herbal tea that will refresh you from within and remove toxins from your body. Listen to Gayatri chants or prayers that inspire you. Light incense stick in your favourite fragrance around the house. Once you start your day like this, you will be able to carry this calm and peace within you throughout the day. This will help you in fighting the negativity that we women come across throughout the day in our daily life.

This day vow to yourself to look good for yourself and dress up the way that makes you feel beautiful. Simply pamper yourself and soothe your frazzled nerves. Put on your favourite lipstick and fragrance to feel confident throughout the day.

Try new hairstyles

At the end of a hard days work, get back home, kick your shoes and get down to real pampering. On this day take care of yourself. If you have family responsibility ask your partner or spouse to take care of them for a day as a token of appreciation. Encourage him to cook you a nice dinner.

Create a home spa, light aroma candles, whip up a nice body scrub and a moisturising mask and get going. Powder some almond or peanuts and mix it milk cream and honey. Apply all over the body, leave on for five minutes and then scrub your face and body using circular motion. Rinse with luke warm water to which few drops of sandalwood essential oil has been added.

Look Good

Post rinsing slather your face and body with a soothing moisturiser. You will come out feeling refreshed and utterly feminine. Wear your softest clothes (no matter even if they are your old T-Shirt and Pajamas, this is a day about you) and sip some wine and share the evening with your dear ones.

Celebrate Womanhood

It may be just for a day, but the internal cleansing and self-realisation that you start on this day, can go a long way in making you feel strong and be sure of yourself. On the way, if you spend sometime looking after your external beauty and feel good about it, just go ahead and do it!
